TESTA Rossa two-year-old Loutrel is tipped to make a winning debut at Warwick Farm this weekend after a dazzling barrier trial win at the venue on January 15.

The Gary Portelli-trained colt cruised home to win by 3.5-lens in slick time and seemed to have plenty up the sleeve crossing the line.

A racey style of chestnut, Loutrel, is from the stakesplaced Danehill Dancer mare La Goulue who is herself a half-sister to Group 1 winners Ofcourseican (by Mossman) and Gimmethegreenlight (by More Than Ready).

Should Poretlli’s charge be able to salute he will follow in the footsteps of recent Inglis Nursery (1000m) winner Twilight Royale who is also from Testa Rossa’s latest racing crop.

Loutrel has drawn ideally in barrier 3 for Saturday’s Myboycharlie At Vinery Plate (1000m).
