UNBEATEN More Than Ready filly Samaready tightened her grip on the world’s richest 2YO race after another dominant in yesterday’s Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens.

While the Mick Price trained youngster was making her Sydney debut, punters were in no doubt that she would handle the change in direction backing her into $1.50 favourite.

“I think that is about as much as you want to see,” winning trainer Mick Price said. “I thought her last one hundred was good.

“Those big V8 motors in little fillies like her is what allows her to run to the line strongly and finish off and be as good as she is.

“I’ve tried to allow plenty of improvement into the Slipper so she’s basically done and ready now”.

After a slow beginning, Samaready settled second last in the seven-horse field but a confident early move by rider Craig Newitt saw her circle the field from the 600m reaching the lead at the top of the straight.

The reigning Blue Diamond Stakes winner won a mid stretch battle with second favourite Snitzerland before surging clear to win by a comfortable margin of 2-lens ahead of Hussousa and Darley filly, Meidung.

Such was the fashion of her win, that Samaready is now a clear cut $3.00 favourite to take out the $3.5m AAMI Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on April 7.

Should she triumph next month, Samaready will become the third More Than Ready 2YO to win the feature joining Sebring in 2008 and Phelan Ready a year later.
