Nothingilikemore lifted to another level with an awesome 5 length victory for John Size and Joe Moreira at Sha Tin on Sunday.
The Husson sprinter had won on debut in Hong Kong in January and connections couldn’t hide their delight as he made it two-from-two in the Tak Ku Ling Hcp (1400m).
Moreira was grinning like a cheshire cat at the post. “I think he should be called Nothingilikemoreira,” the champion jockey joked after bringing the winner back to scale.
Moreira is keen to keep his association with the 3yo gelding and next year’s Group 1 Classic Mile a likely long-term target. “He has a lot of scope – horses here just don’t do what he just did,” Size said after the gelding obliterated his rivals. “He won first-up in Class Four and now he’s gone to Class Three to win by five lengths. You never see that!”
Nothingilikemore was a $40,000 buy for agent John Foote at the 2015 Classic Sale. His dam Katisam (Lonhro) won a couple of restricted sprints in Albury and she has a 2yo colt and yearling colt by Vinery resident Pluck (USA).
Husson stands at Vinery Stud and his 11th stakes winner arrived last Monday when Frolic claimed the RL Inglis Classic (1200m) at Randwick which was the second such sales race success following Private Secretary’s win at the Magic Mallions.
This week’s Perth Magic Millions has three Hussons for sale including a half-sister to recent LR Fairetha Stakes winner Saul’s Special. The filly has been catalogued as Lot 212 from Oakland Park and will go through the ring on Tuesday morning.
