MOSSMAN galloper Triple Elegance confirmed himself to be a genuine chance of winning next month’s $1 million Doncaster Mile after a scoring the biggest win of his career thus far in today’s Group Three Liverpool City Cup (1300m) at Warwick Farm.
Trainer Chris Waller resisted temptations to test his charge in stakes company before today despite a succession of impressive wins.
Sydney’s most astute trainer was finally convinced of Triple Elegance readiness in the wake of his dazzling 6.5-lens win at Rosehill on February 5.
Today’s victory will send him up the ladder on the official Order of Entry for the April 2 feature at Randwick with the possibility of a penalty.
“If any horse in Sydney deserved a crack at a good race it was Triple Elegance,” Vinery’s Conor Phelan said.
“He has such a tremendous record – 17 starts, 7 wins and 7 placings, in fact the only times he missed a place was at his first and second runs. A typical Mossman.”
Triple Elegance has clearly been a tremendous horse for connections, as well as proving a great deal of excitement, he has earned over $440,000 with the promise of plenty more to come.
Triple Elegance is Mossman’s 13 stakeswinner.
