Euro Charline is bound for the United States after a career-best Group 1 placing in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot on Friday.
Trainer Marco Botti announced the transfer after his filly was beaten less than a length by Rizeena in one of the defining British races for three year-old fillies in 2014.
Euro Charline is a daughter of Vinery shuttler Myboycharlie and has kept progressing since winning first-up at Wolverhampton in March. She was runner-up in the G2 Nell Gwynn Stakes in April prior to an unlucky fifth in the G1 English 1000 Guineas at Newmarket.
“I’m delighted with her effort but she’s going to America now,” Botti said. “Team Valor want her to be set for Saratoga. She will run for me in that race and then she will stay over there.
“It’s a shame but we’ve always liked her. I thought she ran well in the Guineas and didn’t disgrace herself. She didn’t handle the dip at Newmarket but I knew the ground and track would suit her much better in the Coronation.”
Euro Charline (3f Myboycharlie – Eurolink Artemis by Common Grounds) is from a family of classic fillies going back to Pure Grain (G1 Irish Oaks), Ancholia (G2 Premio Dormello) and Quay Line (G2 Park Hill Stakes).
Myboycharlie (Ire) sired his first Group 1 winner when Peggy Jean claimed the ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes at Randwick in April. Vinery will stand him for a $13,200 (inc gst) fee this year.
