MORE Than Ready’s 2yo filly Ephemera posted the first win of her career when taking out a 1000m Maiden at Seymour in Victoria on Thursday.

The Peter Moody trained two-year-old was sold for $525,000 at the 2011 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale in 20111 to prominent owner/breeder Paul Fudge who trades as Waratah Thoroughbreds.

Ephemera is a half sister to Danny O’Brien’s Group 2 VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) winner Running Tall and hails from an illustrious USA stakeswinning family.

Ephemera was having only her second race start having finished 2nd on debut to the Stakes placed Alezan Thunder at Sandown.

The filly becomes the 99th winner for her sire in the 2011/12 season.

More Than Ready has twice been crowned Champion Sire of 2Y0’s (overall), a feat which he replicated in the USA in 2010 thanks to his Breeders’ Cup double play when he delivered the winners of both the Colts and Fillies versions.

His Colts divisional winner, Pluck, is a new addition to the Vinery roster in 2012.
