EXCITES filly Amber’s Crown burst back into the winner’s stall with a thumping victory at Eagle Farm on Wednesday to take her record to 5 wins from only 8 lifetime starts.

The Steven O’Dea trained 3YO was suprisingly beaten at Doomben first-up but bounced back with a booming win in the www.BRC.com.au Handicap (1000m) carrying a hefty 57kg.

Amber’s Crown has proven to be an exceptional money spinner for her owner, Rockhampton owner Joe Rapisarda, banking $230,450 so far with the promise of more ahead.

Amber’s Crown is one of seven individual winners from Excites’ first crop alongside the likes of Black Jag, Alights, Flag Officer, Hawilka, 4.5-lens debut winner Avadale and the hardy Stirring Emotion.

Stirring Emotion’s most recent win came at Coonabarabran on Oct 24 with Greg Ryan punching him on to yet another tough and determined win.

Trained at Mudgee by Brett Thompson, Stirring Emotion has now raced 12 times for 4 wins, 7 placings and 1 fourth with earnings of $64,000.

“Excites is the only son of six-times Group 1 winner and Danehill son Danewin at stud,” Vinery’s Adam White said.

“Danewin has done a magnificent job as a sire given he rarely produces more than 45 foals a year.  There’s no doubt Excites’ dam, Staging, was the best mare that visited Danewin and the resulting foal (Excites) won the AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes.

“It’s unlikely we’ll see another Danewin son at stud, certainly not one to match Excites’ resume which doesn’t really reflect what a good stallion Danewin has been in the face of extraordinary difficulty.”

The way Excites has begun his career, it is likely Danewin will be remembered for generations to come.
