MORE Than Ready’s chances of siring a third Golden Slipper winner in four years took a decidedly upward turn this afternoon with Elite Falls outstanding effort to claim the Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens.
The John O’Shea trained 2YO was able to turn the tables on race favourite Satin Shoes who had beaten her in the shorter Widden Stakes and the Silver Slipper Stakes on the two previous occasions they had crossed paths.
However the step up to 1200m was the decisive factor in the outcome with Elite Falls able to overpower Satin Shoes inside the final 100m before racing clear to score in emphatic style.
As a result of her win, punters slashed her pre-post Golden Slipper quote to $9 making her top pick among the fillies this year.
“That was the perfect Slipper trial,” Vinery’s Adam White said,”it was 1200m around Rosehill exactly the same conditions she will encounter on Slipper day and you can see by the way she races that she will really appreciate a high pressure race like the Slipper always is.”
“It was a great day for More Than Ready – he has a genuine Golden Slipper horse now and what can you say about More Joyous, she’s incredible.”
