VINERY resident Mossman added yet another new stakeswinner to his tally when the lightly raced 3YO Backbone came away for an easy win in the Listed Galilee Final (2400m) at Cranbourne on Sunday.
The Mick Kent trained galloper is building an enviable record with 3 wins and a second from his seven career starts.
Backbone is Mossman’s 19th stakeswinner and one of 235 individual winners sired by the exceptional son of Success Express.
Backbone is Mossman’s first stakeswinner at a mile and a half.
Meanwhile, on Saturday talented Mossman son Under The Eiffel finished runner-up in the Group 3 MRC Victoria Handicap (1400m) won last year by Testa Rossa son, Red Colossus.
Mossman is enjoying his best season to date with a flood of major race winners including Coolmore Classic winner, Ofcoursiecan, as well as Queensland sprinter Buffering who registered his fourth Group 1 placings when beaten a nose in last month’s Newmarket Handicap behind Hay List.
