MYBOYCHARLIE gelding Charles In Charge is almost certain to start favourite in his quest for Monday’s feature Adelaide Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1220m) at Morphettville.

The Anthony Freedman-trained youngster staked his claim with sterling debut win at Sandown-Lakeside in a 1200m race on a heavy 8 late last month.

Champion jockey Craig Williams maintains his association with Charles In Charge having ridden him to victory at home in Melbourne.

 

Meanwhile, the David Payne trained Artistic Lass begins another Sydney preparation when she tackles the ATC Shamrock Developments International Handicap (1200m) at Canterbury tonight

Artistic Lass was given a spell after her opening two runs at home, the first of which saw her finish fourth to Myboycharlie’s Golden Slipper hopeful Charlie Boy prior to her third placing behind runaway winner Certitude on November 24.

Artistic Lass is the sixth foal of Peintre Celebre mare, Famous Painter, whose previous offerings including the G2 winner and G1 placed Sistine Angel.

Famous Painter subsequently delivered filly foals by Vinery Stud sires Testa Rossa in 2012 and Kentucky Derby/Preakness Stakes winner Big brown the following spring.

 

CANBERRA gelding Chasing Charlie will need to overcome a wide draw if he is to post his second win again at start number three when he travels to Orange on Monday.
