Mossman filly Pink Perfection triggered a tremendous weekend for Vinery Stud with a front-running victory in Race 1 at Warwick Farm on Saturday.
Pink Perfection (2f Mossman – La Mamma Rosa by Testa Rossa) missed out on start as an emergency for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic but did earn $48,750 in prizemoney for an easy victory in the Australian Turf Club Hcp (1000m).
The Peter Moody trained filly had been placed at Randwick and Gosford before breaking through at her third start. “She’s really quick and jumped straight on the bunny,” winning jockey Josh Parr said. “I was kind to her late in the race – she made my job easy.”
By Vinery sire Mossman, she was a $70,000 buy for Moody at the 2013 Magic Millions and he was back at the Gold Coast this week buying a Testa Rossa – Exquisite Art colt for $230,000 and a Mossman – Attunga Rose colt for $150,000.
Red-hot stallion Testa Rossa continued a very successful afternoon for Vinery when his top-class colt Unencumbered won the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic. Then on Saturday evening, Vinery champion More Than Ready weighed in with a $600,000 colt that topped Day 4 at the Magic Millions yearling sale.
Other city winners for Vinery’s stallions on Saturday were Charles In Charge (Myboycharlie) and More Than Eagle (More Than Ready) at Morphettville, Mighty Equus (Mossman) at Sha Tin and Caprossa (Testa Rossa) at Warwick Farm.
Testa Rossa made it five winners for the weekend when Yalta and the Mick Price trained fillies Titian Silk and Orvieto completed a treble at Kyneton on Sunday.
Vinery has another 12 yearlings catalogued for the Inglis Summer Classic Sale starting next Sunday, January 19.
