THREE YEARS and ten days after she won her first stakes race and after an absence of almost 12 months, tough More Than Ready mare Augusta Proud made a triumphant return to racing winning today’s SAJC Allan Scott Park Morphettville Flying Handicap (1050m).

The Leon Macdonald/Andrew Gluyas trained mare hadn’t faced the starter since blaktype placings in the Listed SAJC Proud Miss Stakes and Group 3 D.C. McKay Stakes behind Catapulted in April and May 2010.
Today’s win was the 5yo More Than Ready mare’s ninth single victory from 26 starts and pushed her earnings closer to $1.75 million.

Augusta Proud was a 2YO of the highest order winning her first six starts including both the Gold Coast and Adelaide Magic Millions 2YO Classic as well as the Group 3 SAJC Marsh Breeders’ Stakes and Listed SAJC Thoroughbreds Stakes.

Augusta Proud is one of 79 individual stakeswinners sired by More Than Ready.
