CLASSY Mossman gelding Second Effort enhanced his already tremendous strike rate recording his fifth win from inside 12 starts at yesterday’s Sandown-Lakeside meeting in Melbourne.
The Clinton McDonald-trained 4YO was also able to notch the hat-trick after clocking up a first at Warrnambool before his penultimate win on the Lakeside circuit.
The ultra consistent Second Effort has won five and been runner-up three times and placed third on one occasion which has helped him bank over $120,000 for connections.
The bay gelding is the first foal of Geiger Counter mare, Relativity, herself a daughter of the 1995 WATC Gimcrack Stakes winner, Western Zip.
Second Effort is yet an another example of the consistent quality of the Mossman progeny. Mossman stands for $27,500 in GST and was one of the first stallions to announce a “full book” for this coming season.
