HOT on the heels of Big Brown 2YO filly Puca’s amazing 16 1/4-lens win in New York, another Big Brown 2yo Red Sashay has done her bit to prolong the Kentucky Derby winners hot-streak by becoming his 11th stakeswinner on the Gulfstream turf.
Kentucky-bred filly Red Sashay made it back to back wins at Florida’s show-piece Gulfstream Park last weekend when she scored a brave and determined win in the Listed Our Dear Peggy Stakes on the grass over the mile.
Red Sashay settled back in the big field sustaining a wide run rounding the corner before wearing her rivals down over the final furlong to post a gritty win.
Trained by Jane Cibelli at Tampa Bay, Red Sashay was second-pick in the race having crushed her rivals by 4-lens over the same course and distance at her last start, only her third time to the races.
Red Sashay’s effort gives Big Brown two new stakeswinners in the space of a fortnight and takes his combined tally of stakes-performers to 21 among 110 individual race winners.
”Big Brown is really starting to make a great impact world wide,” Vinery’s Adam White said.
“The great thing is they are featuring in turf stakes races which is no surprise given he is from the Danzig line and was undefeated on turf himself.
“He had another winner in Australia this week and that was his 14th from his first Southern Hemisphere crop. They are now at an age where they are making a real impact so the next few months is going to be exciting,” he added.
