Victorian based Kulani Park received top dollar when Coolmore Stud paid $775,000 for 12 year-old Redoute’s Choice mare Zouzou. She won a Gosford maiden but went to another level foaling Group 1 winner Zoustar second-up at stud.
Fashions Afield was next best on the All Too Hard leader-board at $625,000. She is another daughter of Redoute’s Choice and was a Group 1 winner of the AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes and Flight Stakes.
At stud, she has foaled two winners from two to the races including Paris Match who was beaten a nose by Tinto in the LR Gold Coast Bracelet on May 3.
All Too Hard was rated Australia’s Champion 3YO in 2012-13. He earned that rating after powering past Pierro in the G1 Caulfield Guineas and then returning for an unbeaten autumn campaign in the G1 Orr Stakes, G1 Futurity Stakes and G1 All Aged Stakes.
Mares in foal to All Too Hard changed hands at the Inglis Australian Broodmare Sale in Sydney on May 5.
Group 1 Stradbroke Hcp winner Mid Summer Music visited All Too Hard as a maiden mare last year and she made $375,000 as part of the Tyreel Stud dispersal.
All Too Hard (Casino Prince) covered one of the best books ever assembled for a first-season in the Hunter Valley last year. It included 18 Group 1 winners and the dams of 12 Group 1 winners amongst a studded book of Stakes winners and Stakes producers.
Vinery has kept All Too Hard’s service fee unchanged at $66,000 (inc gst) in 2014.
