The Inglis Ready 2 Race Sale proved to be a platform for a number of Vinery sires, with buyers eager to secure ready-made racehorses across the day of selling on Tuesday.
Star Turn’s rapid ascendency in Hong Kong drew the attention of newly-minted solo trainer David Eustace, who went to $500,000 to secure Lot 71, a colt out of the well-related Redoute’s Choice mare Hyannis Port.
Offered by the New Zealand-based Woburn Farm, the colt was subject to spirited interest while in the sales ring, with his final price etching him firmly amongst the Top 10 highest-priced lots in the sale.
The striking chestnut will be joined in Hong Kong by Lot 10, a Star Turn colt out of Tale Of The Cat mare Arziki, who was acquired by Astute Bloodstock Services for $150,000.
The pair will bolster the strong Star Turn contingent in Hong Kong, currently spearheaded by Group 3 winner Cordyceps Six.
Elsewhere, Exceedance delivered a perfect trio of lots through the ring on Tuesday, with all three offered lots finding a buyer, at an average of $160,000.
Another Hong Kong-based buyer, this time Francis Lui, liked what he saw out of Lot 187, going to $300,000 to secure the colt from the draft of Nolen Racing.
Out of Tranquil Harmony, Lot 187 is the half-brother of two winners in Asia, most notably Righteous Arion, who is a three-time winner in Hong Kong.
All Too Hard enjoyed another strong sale, with four of his progeny clearing at an average of $156,500.
Hermitage Thoroughbreds, who have raced the likes of The Autumn Sun, Senor Toba and September Run, snapped up Lot 106, a sharp colt out of the I Am Invincible mare Mhaille for $250,000, offered by renowned pinhookers Okuhia Lodge.
Also attracting strong interest was Lot 92, who Mick Price parted with $220,000 to secure. Another promising colt, he was another from the Nolen Racing offering.
Both All Too Hard and Exceedance finished in the Top 10 sires by average (with three or more offered).
