Group 1 winning Myboycharlie filly Peggy Jean has changed hands for $1 million at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.
The good looking daughter of Vinery sire Myboycharlie was sold by Triple Crown Syndications. It was the second time Peggy Jean had paraded on the Gold Coast – she was originally purchased for $25,000 at the 2012 National Weanling Sale when offered by Donnybrook Estates.
Peggy Jean won the G1 Sydney Sires’ Produce Stakes at Randwick and was sold in foal to I Am Invincible. “She’s just gorgeous and has a lovely, deep pedigree,” Widden studmaster Antony Thompson said. “She’s one of the mares of the sale and Sebring looks the obvious choice for her this year.”
Vinery Stud offered several mares on behalf of clients including Pasadoble (Danehill Dancer) who is a half-sister to G3 Nivison Stakes winner Diamond Earth. Adelaide agent Adrian Hancock bought her in foal to All Too Hard for $320,000
On the other side of the coin, Vinery purchased mares to the value of $1.23 million at the Gold Coast. Top of those buys was G3 Glenlogan Park Stakes winner Peace Force (Bernardini) at $520,000.
Vinery Stud’s Adam White said no particular stallion on their roster had been earmarked for the mare. “The beauty with her pedigree is she is free of Danehill so that opens up a lot of options More Than Ready,” he said. “We will talk to Gerald Ryan this week and then decide whether to keep her in work.”
