MYBOYCHARLIE colt Baio is likely to press on towards the next month’s rich Inglis Classic (1200m) after finishing in third behind Mossman filly Mossfun in last Saturday’s $250,000 Inglis Nursery (1000m) at Kensington.

The Bjorn Baker trained 2YO was brave in the face of his wide barrier, jumping from the extreme outside alley on the 12-horse field.

Baio is from the second Australian-crop of his G1 winning sire Myboycharlie.

His dam, Gloravega (by Honour And Glory) was third to former crack WA filly Covertly in the Listed N.J. Way Stakes (1200m) at Belmont while having only her second race start.

Baio is Gloravega’s third living foal and is a full-brother to reigning Adelaide Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) winner, Charles in Charge.

Meanwhile another of the Myboycharlie breed, namely Group 2 winner Charlie Boy is slated to resume in the $1m Magic Millions 3YO Trophy (1400m) on Saturday January 8.

Charlie Boy’s won two races and both have been when he was first-up,” Ryan pointed out.

“I might look to give him a couple of barrier trials to have him ready for the Magic Millions or if I think he needs it, there is a race at Doomben (Vo Rogue Plate) at Doomben on December 28 which we could look at.”
