Vinery resident Myboycharlie has sired a black-type encore in France following his Group 1 triumph with Jameka in the VRC Oaks last Thursday.
His unbeaten two year-old Art Of Raw looked a progressive type for next year after cruising home in the LR Prix Delahante (2000m) at Marseille on Sunday. It followed a winning debut over the same distance at Lyon on October 18.
Jockey Stephane Pasquier didn’t bother with tactics second-up. The colt led from the outset and kept up a strong gallop without ever being approached. When asked to lengthen, he did so immediately while spacing the field down the straight.
Art Of Raw is from Tehamana (Pleasantly Perfect) who won the Prix des Pyrenees (1500m) as a late-season two year-old. Second-dam Ring Of Fire (Nureyev) is a sister to Group 1 racehorse and sire Spinning World.
Myboycharlie (Danetime) was Champion French 2YO in 2007 following a Group 1 victory in the Prix Morny at Deauville and he shuttles to Vinery from Haras du Mezeray.
Art Of Raw is one of 8 juvenile winners by him in France this term headed by crack colt Cheikeljack. He won by a combined 12 lengths in his first two starts before heading to Paris last month where he was placed in the G3 Prix Thomas Bryon (1400m) at Saint-Cloud.
Myboycharlie yearlings sold to 220,000 euros (AUD 331,070) at the Arqana Sale in August. Top-price was paid for the half-brother to Group 1 winner Charm Spirit (Invincible Spirit) who is serving his first mares at Windsor Park Stud in NZ.
Vinery stands Myboycharlie for an $11,000 (inc gst) service fee.
