Klaravich Stables and William Lawrence’s Top Decile (Congrats – Sequoia Queen, by Forestry) has been retired from racing.
The 3-year-old filly, who was second in the Group I Darley Alcibiades Stakes at Keeleand and runner-up in the Group I Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies in last year’s Northern Hemisphere Autumn, was sixth in the Silverbulletday Stakes in January and finished 10th as the favourite in an allowance at Saratoga Saturday.
“We’re going to retire her,” trainer Al Stall said Sunday.
“Physically she’s fine, she just doesn’t have any want to her. We’ve seen it twice and we can’t figure out why she’s doing that. They just do that sometimes, especially fillies.”
Top Decile retires with two 2yo Group 1 placings, and a career record of 5:1-2-1 and earnings of US$491,334.
