Bold striding Onemorenomore sprinter Master Steed made short work of a restricted sprint in Hong Kong on Wednesday night becoming the second winner for Onemorenomore in the territory in a fortnight.
The Caspar Fownes trained galloper stretched right out in the straight to win the Dunbar Hcp (1200m) by nearly two lengths eased down at Happy Valley. Given a gem of a ride from Zac Purton, he jumped from an outside gate but settled midfield on the fence behind speedy front-runner Double Master.
Master Steed (4g Onemorenomore – Sienna Star by Choisir) angled into the clear on the corner and had them covered at the furlong. He first appeared in public last month and owns a powerful finish that will spur him to much better wins this season.
The gelding was a $36,000 buy for Damon Gabbedy of Belmont Bloodstock (FBAA) at the 2013 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale. He’s the only foal to race so far from Peter Moody’s Sandown winner Sienna Star.
Second-dam Lady Chivero (Clay Hero) won in NZ and Adelaide and her half-brother Count Chivas was successful in the 1996 Sydney Cup and was runner-up to Saintly in that year’s Melbourne Cup.
Vinery sire Onemorenomore has a great strike-rate in Hong Kong with imports like last-start Sha Tin winner Honest Horse. Vinery stands him for a $6,600 (inc gst) fee.
