Group 1 winner Samaready was served by All Too Hard at Vinery Stud on Wednesday evening and joins two other top rated Timeform fillies of that year already covered by the Champion 3yo.

The Mick Price trained mare had pulled an off-fore plate during an unplaced run in the G3 How Now Stakes at Caulfield last Saturday.  “A decision was made to retire her forthwith,” Vinery’s Peter Orton revealed.  “We brought her home earlier this week and she was ready to be covered by All Too Hard straight away.”

Samaready (5m More Than Ready – Samar by Secret Savings) won the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes in 2012 and, despite missing most of her three-year-old season through injury, returned to add another Group 1 in the 2013 Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley.

Her 6 career wins spanned just 13 starts for $1.67 million in prizemoney.

Bred by Gerry Harvey, Samaready sold for $150,000 at the 2011 Inglis Easter yearling sale.   Vinery retained a share and she will be a valuable addition to its ranks in retirement.  Her dam Samar died shortly after foaling a More Than Ready colt in September last year.

“All Too Hard’s first crop of foals are truly exceptional,” Orton said.  “It’s a perfect mating to start her career at stud.”

Vinery stands the Australian Champion 3yo for $66,000 (inc gst) and his second book equals the quality of the first that was highlighted by 18 Group 1 winners and the dams of 12 Group 1 winners.

Samaready completes a triumvirate of outstanding fillies from 2011-12 to be covered by All Too Hard this year.

Three of the leading fillies on Timeform’s 2YO list that season have already been covered by him this season.  Samaready (123) topped the rankings ahead of Snitzerland (118), Dear Demi & Driefontein (116) and Hussousa (114).

Snitzerland (Snitzel) has already been served by All Too Hard.  She was runner-up in the 2012 Golden Slipper and, in Samaready’s absence, was Timeform’s Champion 3YO Filly following victories in the G2 Challenge & G3 San Domenico in Sydney and G2 Danehill & G3 Champagne Stakes in Melbourne.

She bowed out earlier this year after a well-deserved Group 1 triumph in the Lightning Stakes at Flemington.

Hussousa (Husson) was retired after injury curtailed her career to just five starts as a two year-old.  She won the LR Gimcrack Stakes at Randwick on debut and was also runner-up to Pierro in the G2 Silver Slipper and to Samaready in the G2 Reisling Stakes.

She was booked into All Too Hard after delivering her first foal by More Than Ready filly in August.
