Vinery Stud have announced fees for 2014 on their power packed roster of sires making champion sire More Than Ready (USA) one of the most attractive stallions in the country.
Sharing top honours on the roster this year are multiple Golden Slipper and Breeder’s Cup Juvenile producing sire More Than Ready and boom young sire All Too Hard, who will both stand at $66,000 for the 2014 season.
The reduction on More Than Ready is substantial as he served last season for $99,000, his fee this year the lowest it has been since he stood for $44,000 in 2007.
Since he took out Champion First Season Sire honours in the 2004/5 season, More Than Ready has risen to become one of the most successful stallions on the world stage with a tally of 127 stakes-winners including a string of Australian Group I winners such as More Joyous and Samaready and consecutive Golden Slipper winners Sebring and Phelan Ready.
In recent times his broodmare daughters have made headlines with three Gr.1 winning producers last year whilst new sire-son Sebring, the leading Australian Second Season Sire for 2013/2014 has Group I stars Criterion and Dissident to his credit.
“More Than Ready has been afforded a few light seasons of mares in the past two Southern Hemisphere Springs and we feel that he is ready to cover a more substantial book of our Australian mares,” Vinery Stud’s General Manager Peter Orton explained.
“The quality of mares that he has been serving has not diminished in that time, nor has his racetrack and sale-ring success, and physically, the horse is in great shape.
“Given it is our desire for More Than Ready to cover more mares, it is only fair that we reduce his service fee and for breeders to be able to access a stallion of More Than Ready’s stature at $66,000 is a very attractive proposition.”
Vinery’s entire roster has enjoyed a fabulous year with Mossman and Myboycharlie progeny winning the first two legs of the 2YO Grand Slam via Golden Slipper winner, Mossfun, followed 7-days later by Peggy Jean’s ATC Sire’s Produce triumph.
On top of that, Testa Rossa brought up his 50th stakeswinner recently and sired the Magic Million 2YO Classic winner, Unencumbered.
“The 2014 Service fees for the Vinery Stallions represent great value to breeders at every level and offer a broad range of sire lines to suit all mares,” Orton said.
“With consistent results on the racetracks this year, the Vinery Stallion roster will collectively ensure breeders have every opportunity to upgrade their mares with the sound knowledge that they are capable of producing runners at the highest level of competition and a strike rate well above the average.”
