MOSSMAN gelding Under The Eiffel showed once again why he is one of Victoria’s most promising gallopers with recording his third straight win taking out yesterday’s Group 3 MRC Allanah and Madelaine Foundation Stakes (1500m) at Sandown.
The Tony Vasil trained four-year-old was backed in from a high of $2.80 earlier in the week to start a pronounced $1.90 favourite and gave his backers no cause for concern racing away from his rivals to post an emphatic 1 3/4-lens win.
The feature also heralded a return to form from runner-up, Sistine Angel, a group winning daughter of Mossman’s associate sire a Vinery, Testa Rossa.
Under The Eiffel has now won six times (3 times second) from his 14 starts and has earnings of more than $300,000.
Under The Eiffel has become Mossman’s 17th individual stakeswinner and shares his Mossman/Danehill mare cross with three other stakewinners namely Absalon, Agister and former Kiwi galloper Hoofit who does his racing in the United States these days where he has won twice including last month’s Grade 3 Phoenix Stakes at Keeneland in Kentucky.
