BLUE blooded colt Huegill enhanced his future sire prospects with fast final sectionals when closing for third behind Helmet and Manawanui in the fastest Caulfield Guineas (1600m) ever run yesterday at the Heath.
Huegill, trained by Peter Moody and owned by Stuart Ramsey, is a son of More Than Ready out of Group 1 winning South African mare Trust Antonia who is herself a daughter of 2007 Broodmare of the Year Loyal Linda (dam of the Champion South African Sprinter, Successful Bidder, and the nation’s Champion 2YO Colt, Gold Flier).
Huegill’s Guineas placing follows arlier black type earned as a 2YO in the Group 3 Blue Diamond Prelude for the colts and geldings and with some of the fastest closing sectionals in the Guineas yesterday, the future looks bright for the lightly raced son of More Than Ready.
