ONE down, one to go. That’s the happy scenario facing Magic Millions winning colt Unencumbered’s trainer Bjorn Baker who is starring down the barrel of another huge payday courtesy of Testa Rossa.
Baker’s crack three-year-old filly Twilight Royale stands to pocket a massive $2.4 million bonus if she is able to win the Inglis Guineas (1400m) at the annual Scone standalone meeting.
Baker paid just $45,000 for Twilight Royale (Testa Rossa – Royal Season) at the 2012 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.
She has already won close to $500,000 thanks to victories in the rich Inglis Nursery and Inglis Premier.
Twilight Royale closed out her two-year-old campaign by defeating subsequent Cox Plate winner Shamus Award in the Group 2 VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) at Flemington.
By doing so, Baker’s filly ticked off another of the races that form part of the $5.5 million Inglis Race Series.
