PROMISING filly Red Hot Chillies became the latest Red Ransom 3YO to step forward as a genuine spring prospect when she scored a comfortable win at Goulburn on Tuesday.
The Grahame Begg trained bay was having her first start since contesting the time honoured Fernhill Quality at Randwick in the autumn not long after she went around in the Sweet Embrace where she was only 2.9-lens from the winner, Jade Marauder.
Red Hot Chillies’ triumph comes hot on the heels of Patinack filly Roll The Bones eye-catching win at Canterbury on August 29 in what shapes to be an exceedingly strong form race.
Roll The Bones will represent Patinack Farm in the Group 2 Furious Stakes (1400m) at Warwick Farm on Saturday.
Both she and Red Hot Chillies are from Vinery foundation sire Red Ransom’s second to last Australian crop.
Red Ransom, the sire of more than 100 stakeswinners, passed away at Vinery in November 2009.
His is survived at the Stud by his Group 1 winning 2YO Onemorenomore whose weanlings captured two of the top three spots at the all important Magic Millions National Weanling Sale on the Gold Coast in July.
Onemorenomore’s yearling’s should be in high demand come 2013 as they averaged over $65,000 as weanlings.
