A COLT by Vinery Stud resident Dubleo’s close relation, former Champion US First Season sire Tapit, remains an obvious favourite with buyers as evidenced by September Yearling sale currently underway in Kentucky.
Day two of the mammoth sale was highlighted by Gainesway’s much admired Tapit chestnut colt out of Don’tellmichelle which sold to Jon Kelly for US$650,000.
Leading U.S General Sire, Tapit and former gun sprinter Dubleo share the same grand-dam, Ruby Sippers, who also delivered triple Grade 1 winner and successful sire Rubiano as well as Dubleo’s dam – Secret Red (a daughter of the immortal Secretariat).
Meanwhile, Dubleo’s local star mare Dubleanny goes in search of her 10th win when she contests the coveted Group 3 MRC How Now Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield.
The Mick Price trained mare is from Dubelo’s first Australian crop is a multiple stakeswinner of over $500,000.
