A DAUGHTER of former USA Leading First Season Sire and Dubleo relative Tapit has delivered the top priced filly on day one the Fasig Tipton July Yearling sale in Saratoga.
The filly was among the stand-out lots from the giant Gainesway oraganisation who parted with the youngster only after bidding ceased at $300,000, just $10,000 shy of the sale topper.
Tapit is something of a sire sensation at home and currently heads the List of General Sires in North America with 10 stakeswinners under the belt so far this (NH) season.
The Gaineway resident has earned his reputation with 27 black-type winners from only four crops and progeny earnings over more than US$20 million.
A Grade 1 winning grandson of A.P Indy (sire of Vinery’s 2011 recruit Congrats), Tapit is from a half-sister to the dam of another Vinery resident Dubleo.
Equal second top priced filly at the sale went to Lot 303, a filly by Big Brown (sold for $220,000) whose first Australian foals are eagerly awaited in the countdown to the new season.
