MOSSMAN stallion Love Conquers All is poised to put an end to a frustrating sequence of second placings in major races when he tackles tomorrow’s $1 million BRC Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) at Eagle Farm.
The Team Hawkes trained galloper opened his current campaign with a second behind More Than Ready’s champion mare More Joyous in the Group 2 Canterbury Classic.
Following that, Love Conquers All, has been runner-up in the George Ryder Stakes, Doncaster Mile and Doomben 10,000 – all of them Group 1 races.
”He’s going great and if ever a horse deserves to win a Group 1 race it is him,” owner Nick Moraitis told the Daily Telegraph.
”If he can win a big race like the Stradbroke, it would put a lot of value on the horse.
”I’ve been lucky in racing, not many good races have eluded me, but I’d love to win the Stradbroke with this horse. He deserves it.”
Mossman has a second ion in the Stradbroke fire via the local Buffering who blotted an otherwise exemplary record when last in the Doomben 10,000.
Prior to that the Robert Heathcote three-year-old was third behind Black Caviar and Hay List in the weight-for-age BRC Sprint (1200m) after defeating reigning Group 1 Galaxy winner, Atomic Force, in the Group 2 Sir Byrne Hart (1200m).
