FANS of Vinery Stud resident Danehill son Bel Danoro have yet another reason to cheer after the Rod Craig trained Angeloro scored at $101 in the opening event at Gosford today.
The Baramul Stud-bred Angeloro was bought by multiple Group 1 winning conditioner Rod Craig at the Magic Millions Select Yearling sale for $15,000.
Angeloro clearly relished the step-up to a mile for the first time landing the winner’s purse with a healthy BOBS top-up.
The gelding becomes Bel Danoro’s fourth winner from just 12 first crop starters together with a further three placegetters.
Bel Danoro’s fifth winner seems just around the corner owing to Bolero Dancer’s scheduled Kembla Grange appearance this weekend.
The Clarry Conners-trained 2YO has accepted for a race at Randwick but is likely to return to the Illawarra where he ran an encouraging second on debut.
”Bolero Dancer is a good stamp of a horse who trialled really well before his placing at Kembla which was also good,” says Vinery’s Conor Phelan.
”Given that you can always expect a bit of natural improvement in two-year-olds, Bolero Dancer is going to be hard to hold out especially from gate one.”
