STAKES-WINNING Mossman daughter Parriwi can make amends for her luckless fourth in the $130,000 Coolmore Handicap at the Scone stand-alone last start when she contests tomorrow’s Alibi Bourbon Handicap (1200m) at Rosehill.
The Kris Lees-trained filly was bailed away on the fence for the best part of her Scone test but flew late once she saw some clear running to clock-in 0.8-lens behind the winner, Ardeche.
Parriwi is paying for her consistency, not too mention her Listed win this time last year in Brisbane, being asked to carry equal top-weight with Ardeche on what is certain to be a soft track on Saturday.
”The 58kg is a good leveller on a heavy track but she gives me the indication that she will handle it,” Lees told the Daily Telegraph. ”She went into the run at Scone in very good order and has come out the other side without any problems.”
