THE reputation of Vinery Stud resident stallion Myboycharlie continues to grow ahead his first crop of weanlings being offered at next month’s Magic Millions National Weanling Sale on the Gold Coast.
There are 18 lots by the Group 1 winning two-year-old on offer all from select sale families and with outstanding conformation.
”The weanlings by Myboycharlie going to the Gold Coast are a great advertisement for the stallion and I am sure that breeders who haven’t seen what the horse is delivering will be quite impressed with them on the whole,” Vinery Stud’s Adam White said.
Myboycharlie’s first southern hemisphere foals were born here at Vinery last season and were responsible for a 20% increase in the size of his book from first season to second season.
“Clients cannot pay you a bigger compliment than returning for a second season or sending more mares.” White said.
Despite being a Champion 2yo with an exceptional international pedigree, buyers will still want a good looking weanling if looking to pin-hook or pick up a horse they can put away and race.
”Thankfully, Myboycharlie is putting that quality into his foals that will satisfy on both counts.”
Myboycharlie is a son of the ill-fated Danetime who sired Group 1 winners in Europe and Australia before his untimely and tragic demise.
”Danetime was a good sprinter himself and very much in that Danehill mould,” says White.
”He is a strong and masculine horse to look at – a real sprinters physique – that is perfectly suited for Australia.
”His foals have good bone and most of them look like they’ll be up and ready to go early like Myboycharlie who won his 2YO maiden by 11 lengths.”
Myboycharlie is out of Dulceata, a daughter of Vintage Crop’s sire, Rousillion, and a half-sister to Flurry, the dam of Australian stakeswinner, Snow Alert (by Red Ransom).
”It is always a positive sign to find a proven sire in any stallions’ family and both Al Hareb and Snowland appear close-up in Myboycharlie’s pedigree,” White noted, “as well as local Stakes winners Portillo, Snippetson, Snow Alert, amongst others”
”Australian owned, Myboycharlie reverse shuttles to the English National Stud where he has just had his first corp of foals,” said White, ” and reports are he is stamping his progeny as well over there as we’ve seen here.”
