MORE Than Ready fans were celebrating a 50/1 all-up result after the Vinery super sire delivered a double at Sha Tin on Wednesday night.

What makes the feat all the more worthy is that at present there are but seven named horses by the dominant sire More Than Ready currently racing in Hong Kong.

Midweek racing at Sha Tin kicked off with victory to the David Cruz trained Storm’s Destiny ($5) who was bought by the Hong Kong Jockey Club for $120,000 out of Vinery Stud’s 2007 Melbourne Premier Yearling draft.

The 5YO is out of the Honor Grades mare Bare Assessment who is a close relation to epic UK stayer, Double Trigger.

More Than Ready’s second winner at Sha Tin came in the shape of Buccaneer ($10.80) who was bred by the late Jim Fleming at Tyreel Stud.

Buccaneer is from the first Australian crop of More Than Ready, the very same crop that propelled him to Champion First Season Sire honours in Australia.

Buccaneer is a superbly bred gelding being a half to AJC Flight Stakes winner Pontal Lass as well as the multiple USA stakes winner, River Majesty.

”We all know More Than Ready is a great sire of 2YO’s,” says Vinery’s Adam White,”but here we have two older gallopers, one from his first crop that proves that the breed train on.”
