MULTIPLE award winning sire More Than Ready proved once again to be a blockbuster for buyers at this week’s 2011 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling sale in Sydney.
With stars like More Joyous and Golden Slipper placegetter Elite Falls fresh in their minds, buyers were drawn to the More Than Ready’s like never before.
At the conclusion of the sale, some 24 More Than Ready yearlings had changed hands for a total of $7,045,000 at an average of almost $300,000.
The highest price for a More Than Ready is 2011 was the $750,000 required to buy the filly out of Regrowth bought by WA identity Bob Peters.
Peters races the State’s champion More Than Ready filly, Dreamaway, who last Saturday added the WATC Derby to her WATC Oaks win seven days earlier.
“It was another great sale overall for More Than Ready,” Vinery’s Adam White said.
”It was pleasing to see that the demand for the other More Than Ready’s was substantial.”
”It sets the tone for what will be another very good book of mares for More Than Ready who continues to deliver for breeders, vendors, trainer and owners,” says White.
”We have already seen what More Than Ready colts are capable of at stud, Perfectly Ready for example, and of course the residual value of horses like Sebring – facts which have only served to make his yearlings more attractive.”
