MEANWHILE, Vinery Stud sires Onemorenomore and Big Brown were on the receiving end of considerable backing from buyers at last week’s National Weanling sale on the Gold Coast.
Two of the top three highest priced weanlings were sired by Group 1 winner, Onemorenomore, while all six of the Big Brown lots offered found new homes.
Lot 685 from Vinery Stud (as agent) sold for $80,000 to Springbank Horse Farm (VIC).
The colt is a half brother to Benicio stakesplacegetter Cuban Sunday and three other winners.
Three of the half dozen Big Brown weanlings were claimed by Victorian interests with visiting agent Gary Mudgway paying $60,000 for a close relation to Triple Crown winner, Dance Hero.
Mudgway revealed that he plans to re-offer the filly at one of Australia’s major yearling sale sin 2013 where she is bound to attract significant attention.
“We’ve (Grange Thoroughbreds) had tremendous success pinhooking fillies going into the Melbourne Premier Sale and this filly was purchased to be one of our star lots at next year’s sale,” he said.
