TWO of Mossman’s most talented sprinter/milers, Love Conquers All & Triple Elegance, go head to head in the $400,000 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill this weekend with a Group 1 reward waiting for the victor.
Team Hawkes galloper Love Conquers All who beat all bar More Joyous in the Group 2 Canterbury Stakes last start steps beyond 1400m for the first time tomorrow while rising star Triple Elegance makes his weight-for-age debut.
”This is one of the best George Ryder’s we have seen in a while,” says Vinery Stud’s Adam White.
”Both Love Conquers All and Triple Elegance are stepping into unknown territory but they are in great form and racing at their hometracks.”
One of the hardest horses to beat in the George Ryder according to punters is Triple Elegance stablemate, Danleigh, who won the Chipping Norton Stakes last start and incidentally was born, reared and sold at Vinery.
”Danleigh is a mighty horse. He has won four Group 1 races and is ideally suited at 1500m on his home track and it looks like he’ll get some give in the ground,” Phelan said.
”Obviously I am hoping one of the Mossman’s win but Danleigh wouldn’t be such a bad result for us – he was sold out of Vinery’s draft at the 2009 Magic Millions National Sale for $220,000.”
