PETER and Wendy Moran’s familiar green and white design will be worn by Excites two-year-old Potluck who makes her debut in the Group 2 Magic Night Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday.
The Moran’s bred and raced Excites who won the Group 1 AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) at only his third career start.
Potluck’s dam, Snaps, is a Flying Spur daughter of Snapshots who won the AJC Keith Mackay Quality Handicap (1200m) for the Queensland husband and wife duo in 1997.
The Gerald Ryan trained Potluck has impressed in her two trials ahead of this weekend placing behind Aerobatics at Randwick on March 4 before her latest second to subsequent Reisling Stakes placegetter Fast And Sexy on March 15.
Excites currently sits equal third on the first seasons sires list with only two freshman sires having sired one winner more. That may all change this weekend.
