THE Sires’ has drawn together a small field of just 7 runners, three of whom are by global supersire More Than Ready.
Tomorrow’s Group 1 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) is being billed as a match race between unbeaten colts Pierro and All Too Hard but there are other live chances in the race.
Classy colts Raceway, Faustus and Askohan are all backing up a week after competing in the Golden Slipper Stakes with varying levels of success.
“Raceway was very good, he ran fifth, and I thought the other two of John O’Shea’s were critically affected by their wide barriers,” Vinery’s Conor Phelan.
“Tomorrow is a different story, I would imagine all three are going to appreciate the 1400m particularly at Randwick where it often tends to favour horses that race up on the speed and kick over the rise.
“If that scenario plays out, Ashokan is probably the most likely of the three but we’ve also seen Raceway finish his 12200m races off at speed.
“Faustus pressed on from his barrier in the Slipper, he might take a little drop on the leader tomorrow and if it’s dry, he could be a knock-out.”
