GLAMOUR filly More Stawberries will start as short priced favourite to present trainer Gai Waterhouse with her fifth Surround Stakes when Group One racing returns to Warwick Farm this weekend.
Waterhouse has made the race her own in recent years winning the Group 2 feature with On Type (2001), Vinery’s own Bollinger (in 2003), Lotteria (2005) and last year with the mighty More Joyous (by More Than Ready).
”More Strawberries will win because she is too good for them,” Waterhouse declared.
”Coming back to her own age and sex (from the Triscay Stakes) is a huge difference.”
More Strawberries proved herself to be the nation’s leading 3YO filly during the spring winning the G2 double – Furious Stakes and Tea Rose Stakes – before being edged out in the G1 Flight Stakes.
Waterhouse intends to cement More Strawberries position as number one by winning the next month’s coveted AJC Oaks.
