MORE Than Ready’s tally of global stakeswinners climbed to 80 after the Mark Kavanagh trained 3YO gelding Tropic Thunder claimed the Listed SAJC Redelva Stakes (1000m) at Morphettville this afternoon.
Tropic Thunder was having his tenth career start which has reaped a win and six placings for owners Teeley Assets whose familiar colours were made famous by champion galloper and sire Redoute’s Choice.
The Dean Yendall mount made good use of his inside draw to settle fourth in the field proving too strong in the run to the line defeating Kulgrina by 0.8-lens with Obsidian Dragon a half neck away in third place.
Tropic Thunder’s time for the 1000m was a slick 57.98 seconds.
More Than Ready has reached his current total number of stakeswinners in super swift time and has claimed a number of important titles along the way including Australian Champion Sire of 2YO’s twice, Australia’s Champion First Season Sire and is the reigning USA Champion Sire of Juveniles thanks to his Breeders’ Juvenile double play More Than Real (Fillies division) and Pluck (Colts Division) who will take up residency at Vinery in the 2012 season.
