AN Excites half brother to talented Testa Rossa filly Sistine Angel has sold for $150,000 at the Perth Magic Millions Yearling Sale.
The chestnut colt was bought by Sistine Angel’s trainer, Andrew Noblet, and will return to his Caulfield stables.
Noblet’s winning bid sets a new record price for an Excites yearling surpassing the $100,000 Raise A Dane filly sold at the 2010 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.
“Excites has sired 3 winners from three starters and I think buyers who like to wait and see a bit with these first season sires are starting to appreciate that this might be the time to enter the market and buy an Excites,” Vinery’s Conor Phelan said.
“He throws very athletic horses. They sold very well before he had runners but there has been a dramatic increase in demand as people can see that his progeny can gallop. It’s very encouraging really and will ensure that he gets another very good book of mares in the new season. We couldn’t be happier.”
