The four-time Group One winner Danleigh (Mujahid) has been retired from racing as announced by his trainer Chris Waller yesterday.
Born and reared and Vinery, Danleigh carryied the Vinery “V” brand to Group One victory on four occasions for his owners Keith and Ruth Leonard.”
“He has been a very important horse to me, the owners and all of my staff and I am forever grateful to Keith and Ruth Leonard for giving me the opportunity to train such a wonderful horse,” said Waller.
“Danleigh provided me with many thrills, including four Group One wins, my first interstate Group One in the Manikato Stakes and a very satisfying Group Two win in the Chelmsford Stakes as a nineyear-old.”
Danleigh, who finished seventh behind stablemate Beaten Up (Beat Hollow) in last Saturday’s Doomben Cup (Gr 1, 2000m), raced 63 times for ten wins, 19 placings for $2,556,295 in prize money.
