Vinery is pleased to announce the appointment of Sebastian Angelillo to its Sales and Nominations team, commencing Monday, 6 July.
Sebastian joins the Vinery team with a wealth of international thoroughbred industry experience spanning breeding, stallion management and bloodstock sales.
Originally from Uruguay, Sebastian’s passion for the thoroughbred industry began through his family’s involvement in racing and breeding. He launched his professional career in the United States, completing the prestigious Kentucky Equine Management Internship (KEMI) at Three Chimneys Farm in 2011, where he worked as a stallion handler before joining Taylor Made Farm for the yearling sales season.
A graduate of the Irish National Stud’s renowned Thoroughbred Breeding Management Course, Sebastian further broadened his experience while working at Lanwades Stud in Ireland and attending the major European yearling sales.
His first introduction to the Australian thoroughbred industry came with roles at Widden Stud and Newgate Farm as stallion manager. In recent years, Sebastian has been a valued member of the Darley team, progressing into a sales consultant role, a position he has held for the past two years.
Sebastian is excited to begin the next chapter of his career with one of the Hunter Valley’s leading thoroughbred nurseries.
“I’m very excited to be joining the Vinery team and look forward to contributing to such a respected farm with a strong history of success,” Sebastian said.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to work alongside a passionate team, continue building relationships with breeders, and help promote a world-class stallion roster.”
Vinery General Manager Adam White said the appointment would further strengthen the farm’s client services and bloodstock offering.
“To have someone with Sebastian’s extensive international knowledge and experience across so many different facets of the industry is incredibly exciting for our team,” White said.
“His hands-on understanding of the breeding industry, from stallion management through to sales, gives him a unique perspective that will be a tremendous asset to both the farm and our clients.”
The appointment also creates an opportunity for internal promotion, with Harry Roach stepping into the role of bloodstock manager.
Having been a valued member of the Vinery team for more than seven years, Harry’s promotion marks a well-deserved milestone in his career.
“I would like to thank the Vinery partners, Gerry Harvey, Katie Page, Steve McCann and the Kia Ora trustees for entrusting me with this role.” Roach said.
“I am very proud to be accepting and look forward to continuing to uphold the high standards and values that are synonymous with the Vinery brand.
“I would also like to congratulate Sebastian in his new role. I have full confidence he will be a fantastic addition to the Vinery team.”
