Fresh from a successful Magic Millions National Weanling Sale, Kia Ora Stud has been busy during the first two days of the National Broodmare Sale with seven buys including a winning $360,000 bid for Ducale (Lot 858) from Vinery Stud on Wednesday.

Ducale (I Am Invincible) was offered by Vinery (as agent) as was her Ole Kirk colt that was purchased by Victorian-based Diamond Park owner Jeremy Payne for $130,000 at the Foal Sale last Thursday.

Kia Ora stallion Farnan (Not A Single Doubt) topped the Foal Sale with turnover of $1.36 million.  The Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes winner had been sold by Vinery as a yearling for $550,000 at the 2019 Gold Coast Magic Millions.

Ducale was sold with a PPT to Exceed And Excel and will be an outstanding addition to the Kia Ora broodmare ranks.  She is a Sydney-winning full-sister to Nettuno (GCTC Ken Russell Memorial Gr.3) and their dam Saint Minerva (Galileo) won a QTC Grand Prix Gr.3.

Vinery sold another daughter of I Am Invincible earlier on Day 2 of the Broodmare Sale when Blue Belle Of Asia (Lot 799) was purchased by Baramul Stud for $220,000.  She was offered with a PPT off a maiden cover to Exceedance.

Blue Belle Of Asia owns a gold-plated Group 1 pedigree through her dam Commanding Jewel (Commands) who won a MRC Thousand Guineas (Gr.1, 1600m) at Caulfield.  Her older half-sister Atlantic Jewel (Fastnet Rock) also won a Thousand Guineas and trained on for further Group 1 victories in the ATC All-Aged Stakes, MRC Caulfield Stakes and Memsie Stakes.

Atlantic Jewel’s foals include Group 1 Hong Kong Gold Cup winner Russian Emperor (Galileo).

Vinery Stud’s Day 3 entrants for the National Broodmare Sale include numerous mares with important updates including Ruby Falls (Lot 1089).  Her 2yo filly Yosemite Falls (Dundeel) cruised to a six-length win on debut at Echuca last month for Glentree Racing and trainer Archie Alexander.

Ruby Falls (Flying Spur) is a half-sister to Group 1 MRC Thousand Guineas winner Irish Lights (Fastnet Rock) and she is being offered with a PPT to So You Think (NZ),
