Champion New Zealand 2YO filly Lara Antipova and consistent gelding Losesomewinmore combined for an impressive Vinery Graduates double at Flemington on Saturday.

Back to her best after finishing unplaced at her first Australian start, the daughter of Russian Revolution had been unbeaten in five starts at two in New Zealand and added the Listed Michael Moroney Stakes to her growing resume.

Ridden by Mark Zahra, Lara Antipova enjoyed a perfect run behind the leaders before bursting through at the 150m mark and powering clear for an impressive victory.

Trainer Mark Walker was delighted to see the filly back in the winner’s circle.

“It’s great today for the New Zealand industry that our form stacks up. She is a Group 1 winner at home and I know this is a Listed race, but it was a quality field today so it’s just really good when our form stacks up.

“Hopefully we can go on to a Thousand Guineas from here.”

Raised at Vinery and bred by Eden and Jenni Harrington, Lara Antipova was purchased by David Ellis of Te Akau Racing in partnership with Fortuna Racing for $100,000 from the Vinery draft at the 2025 Magic Millions Yearling Sale.

The bargain buy has already returned connections almost $600,000 in prizemoney, including her Group 1 victory in New Zealand.

Lara Antipova was one of three new Group 1 winners to be sourced from Vinery drafts last season and now looks well positioned to add an Australian Group 1 to her resume this spring.

Later in the meeting, All Too Hard showed once again why he remains one of the Hunter Valley’s most consistent stallions when Vinery graduate Losesomewinmore charged to victory down the Flemington Straight in the Group 3 Bobbie Lewis Stakes over 1200m.

Settling towards the rear under Craig Williams, the gelding was able to take a sit before looming up along the inside and getting his head in front with 50m to run.

Trained by Richard and Chantell Jolly, who maintain stables in both Adelaide and Flemington, Losesomewinmore has thrived with the advantage of a Melbourne base and clearly has an affinity for the Flemington Straight.

“I don’t think there’s any reason to take him around a corner for the rest of the spring,” said Jolly.

“The Gilgai is coming up, there are some nice Moonee Valley races going to other tracks, so we’ll be mindful of where he’s going to be weighted the best.”

Bred by Echo Beach Bloodstock and purchased by Simple Bloodstock Services for $80,000 from the Vinery Stud draft at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, the relatively lightly raced gelding has now taken his earnings to an impressive $655,800, with eight wins from 18 starts.

Losesomewinmore is already the second Stakes winner for All Too Hard in the new racing season, following Hard Kick’s victory in the Group 3 Vain Stakes in August.

Group 3 Black Opal winner and Group 1 Golden Slipper place-getter Music Time has also returned in fine fashion, finishing third in the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes.

Standing at $27,500 this season and offering exceptional fertility, All Too Hard truly represents one of the best value proven sires standing in the Hunter Valley.
