Exceedance continues to establish itself as one of Australia’s most exciting young stallions, siring an impressive back-to-back metropolitan double in Sydney with Dance To The Boom and Stagnum.
Already a Listed-winning 3YO, Bjorn Baker trained Dance To The Boom made it four wins from just seven starts and took her earnings to just shy of $200,000 with another commanding performance.
Returning for her second run this preparation, the talented filly jumped quickly under champion jockey James McDonald, taking an early lead to control the tempo throughout before kicking strongly to score an easy all-the-way victory over 1400m.
Shortly afterward, the lightly raced and progressive gelding Stagnum trained by Team Hawkes stepped up to produce a powerful performance to claim his second metro victory from just six starts.
Under a patient ride from Tyler Schiller, Stagnum settled at the tail of the field before unleashing a powerful turn of foot to swoop past his rivals and win with authority.
“He’s a very progressive, nice horse that just keeps improving. He’s come back bigger, stronger, better this preparation. He’s only lightly raced and he’s by that good sire in Exceedance that we just keep loving,” said co-trainer Michael Hawkes.
Exceedance continues to excel among Australia’s elite young stallions boasting the highest strike rate (41.1%) of winners among the Top 20 sires of 3YOs by winners – a testament to the consistency and quality of his progeny.
Backed by strong breeder confidence, Exceedance has maintained over 80% fertility this season and expects a book of 180 mares due to foal this spring.
Standing at Vinery Stud for $33,000 (inc GST), the son of Exceed And Excel offers outstanding value for breeders looking for fertility, upside and proven racetrack success.
