All Too Hard is becoming a popular equine influencer with punters who follow his progeny in Hong Kong.
His consistent son My Ecstatic made virtually all the running to score a blistering two-length victory in the Jervois Hcp (1655m) at Happy Valley on Tuesday evening. That made it 19 wins for the Vinery champion in Hong Kong this season and My Ecstatic has landed three of them at $17, $10 and $7.50.
All Too Hard is also a trendsetter for trainers and jockeys in Hong Kong. His brilliant 3yo sprinter Bundle Of Charm helped Zac Purton maintain a two-win margin over Joao Moreira for the jockeys’ premiership at Sha Tin on Sunday. And My Ecstatic sent Frankie Lor seven wins clear of his mentor John Size for the trainers’ title. “My old boss will not give up,” Lor said. “We still have five meetings left so I must keep trying.”
My Ecstatic is working his way up to the verge of Class Two company following the latest victory. “He just keeps going,” Lor explained recently. “They just can’t get past him.”
Vinery sold him for $100,000 to Ross Lao (Upper Bloodstock) at the 2018 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale and his earnings have reached the equivalent of AUD $778,000.
He represents the All Too Hard – More Than Ready cross which has built a superb 73% winning strike-rate headed by Group 1 winners Wellington (Sha Tin) and Forbidden Love (Sydney) who is back in training with Michael Freedman following a spell at Torryburn Stud.
My Ecstatic is the first foal of More Radiant who carried the ‘Big V’ brand to Stakes placings at Flemington and Caulfield. She has a filly foal by Exceedance and her latest cover was to Vinery’s Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes graduate Farnan.
“All Too Hard is doing a tremendous job especially in the last twelve months with four individual Group 1 winners,” Vinery’s bloodstock manager Adam White said on RSN Radio this week. “I Am Invincible is the only other Australian stallion to do that.
“We saw his great horse Alligator Blood win the Stradbroke Handicap earlier this month and Wellington is one of the top sprinters in Hong Kong. It is very important for our markets going forward to get support like that in those jurisdictions.”
Vinery stands All Too Hard for a $38,500 (inc GST) service fee and for bookings or further information, please contact Adam White (0414 800 918) or Harry Roach (0401 970 006).
