Vinery sire Star Turn was represented by 15 individual winners in October and he’s right on track to equal that impressive total this month with three winners in the last four days.

The trio arrived in three States – Circus Star (Ascot) on Thursday, Green Legend (Gold Coast) on Saturday and Starsongari (Gawler) on Sunday.

Circus Star was perfectly-placed in the three-wide line behind Pin Maher before accelerating to an easy victory in the Amelia Park Maiden (1400m) in Perth.  “He’s been letting himself down with some barrier mishaps so we decided to book Brandon Louis,” co-trainer Sea Casey said.  “He’s been working the horse at home and everything went right today.”

A $70,000 buy at the 2020 Inglis Melbourne Yearling Sale, he’s owned by Wally Daly who raced Melbourne Group 1 winners Vega Magic and Bomber Bill with his brother George.  His Hot Pink & Royal Blue checked colours were also carried by Laverrod to a win last year’s Hareeba Stakes (LR, 1200m) at Mornington.

Star Turn sired Circus Star from Fastnet Rock mare Chamois Princess and that cross is currently running at 80%.

Green Legend scored his second win in four starts for trainer Dan Duryea on Saturday.  Starting a short-priced favourite in the Tradelink Hcp (1200m), he took a short-cut on the corner to establish a winning margin under Noel Callow.

A $100,000 graduate from the Rheinwood Pastoral consignment at the 2020 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, Green Legend is raced by Hong Kong-based Magus Equine agent Willie Leung.  His dam Volutina (Holy Roman Emperor) is a half-sister to Eagle Farm Stakes winner Insistence (Black Hawk).

Starsongari took a late split in the straight to win the L J Hooker Hcp (1100m) on Sunday.  Starting first-up since July, she settled back in the field but was ready to pounce for apprentice Felicity Atkinson when a gap appeared between the leaders.

Lime Country Thoroughbreds bred and sold Starsongari as a foal for $90,000 to Rathmore Bloodstock at the 2019 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale.  Her dam Msongari (Show A Heart) won in NZ and Australia and second-dam Flying Babe (Flying Spur) was a Champion NZ 2YO.

Star Turn’s numbers from his first two crops have soared to 72 individual winners of 148 races.  His winners to Stakes-performers strike-rate has also climbed to 18%.

Vinery stands Star Turn for a $27,500 (inc GST) service fee.  For bookings or further information, please contact Adam White (0414 800 918) or Harry Roach (0401 970 006).
