Tal Nolen prepared an All Too Hard 2yo colt that made $230,000 at the Inglis Ready2Race Sale a fortnight ago and he’s back with two speedy sons of the Vinery sire for the Magic Millions 2yo Sale on Tuesday.

The Gold Coast will be abuzz with a Hong Kong contingent bidding on the four colts by All Too Hard especially after his Champion Sprinter Wellington scored a first-up victory in the Premier Bowl (Gr.2, 1200m) at Sha Tin on Sunday. All Too Hard is a Top 5 stallion in Hong Kong this season and his overall record is 14 winners of 46 races at a rising strike-rate of 64%.

Hong Kong buyers accounted for over 30 sales at the Inglis Sale and among them was trainer Ricky Yiu who purchased Nolen’s $230,000 All Too Hard – Be Happy colt (Lot 126) at Riverside Stables.

A doyen of the trade, Nolen breezed his Magic Millions All Too Hard colt (Lot 35) in 10.36s which was equal-fastest of the two-dozen in action at Seymour.  The powerful chestnut’s dam Divergence is from a winning half-sister to Magically (SAJC Yallambee Classic Gr.2, 1200m) and he’s being sold (as agent) for Mitch Williams (Moorillah Pastoral).

He was initially purchased by Williams for $100,000 from Gerry Harvey’s Baramul Stud at the Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sale in March.

Williams had pinhooked Celavi (Fighting Sun) for $50,000 at the 2018 Tasmanian Magic Millions and sold her through Nolen Racing (as agent) for $100,000 at that year’s Magic Millions 2yo Sale.

Celavi has won 8 races to date in Singapore for trainer Michael Clements topped by the 2021 Merlion Trophy (Gr.3, 1200m).  That front-running victory over stablemate Starlight (Star Turn) sent her earnings past the equivalent of AUD426,000.

“I’ve been going to Benalla to help prepare Tal’s breeze-up horses for the last ten years,” Williams said.  “The 2019 Singapore Guineas winner Top Knight is another good one we sold to Michael Clements.”

Mitch is a son of leading bloodstock identity Tubba Williams.  “I attend most yearling sales throughout the year trying to find breeze up horses.  It’s a big thrill to have that involvement and then follow them on the track.”

Nolen Racing’s other All Too Hard entrant going under the hammer on Tuesday is the colt from Lilly in Love (Lot 75) who clocked 10.66s at Seymour.

The Vinery sire will also be popular with Singapore owners and agents at the Gold Coast.  He has sired 14 individual winners at Kranji at a 74% strike-rate headed by last year’s Group 1 Champion Hard Too Think (Singapore Derby & Queen Elizabeth II Cup).

Vinery stands All Too Hard for $38,500 (inc GST).  For bookings or further information, please contact Adam White (0414 800 918) or Harry Roach (0401 970 006).
